Delhi government has also provide a good or excellent bus fleet.
Some years ago, Delhi Transport Corporation was working with private owners to facilitate the transport system of Delhi and to provide quick and better service to the citizens of Delhi. Government of India, Ministry of Transport took over the local bus services in Delhi in May 1948 as Delhi Transport Corporation. After this, under the Road Transport Corporation Act, 1950, A Delhi Road Transport Authority was comes into existence. Now this Authority is working under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi by an Act of Parliament in April, 1958.
After the conclusion of Planning Commission, they recommend that Delhi Transport which is a part of Municipal Corporation of Delhi is not doing its operations efficiently or effectively and adequately resulting in breakdown of incomes and with a very high operating cost, Govt. of India took over the controls of the undertaking by passing the Delhi Road Transport Laws (Amendment) Act, in 1971. It took over the assets and liabilities from the erstwhile Delhi Transport Undertaking (DTU) operated by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi till 2nd Nov,1971. Thus the DTC was set up in 1971. In section 22 of the Road Transport Corporation Act, 1950.
Some years ago DTC was operating under the administrative control of Govt. of India. In 05.08.96 Delhi Transport Corporation finally taken over by Govt. of NCT, Delhi.

I am a citizen of Delhi,I am using BRT corridor and the new DTC buses(a new bus service of Delhi Transport Corporation). The Brand name "MarcoPolo" which is used for Non-AC buses is presently being used by the DTC are fully uncomfortable for daily commuters in a highly populated city like Delhi. These new BRT buses can maximally take half of the capacity of the earlier "Green and Gold" DTC buses.Delhi is a city which has a long sunshine summer and it is a very tough job to stand in the rear of a windowless area of a bus hoping for some breath. There is only a single ventilator on the roof of this bus but it is not enough to travel in these type of buses.
There is a very small space which is near the driver to stand. Marco Polo buses are doing well in European countries because these countries have a very low population.
The BRT corridor is accessible to every Delhi citizen,it is the statement of Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System(DIMTS) .
The operational BRT corridor will cover the area of 5.6 km in phase I (From Ambedkar Nagar and Moolchand) has included various features which will make it accessible for all commuters.
